If you are not sure which product is best for you and your clients, the most important factor to consider is the paper. Not every paper is suited for every type of client. Clients who do not value fine art printing as much will not be pleased with the extra handling precautions of ArtBooks.

The first rule of thumb in album sales is to have a physical set of samples (two or better - three). Your clients will buy with their eyes and hearts. We have an insanely good studio sample promotion or even a trade-in program if you want to dispose any old sample from any album company.

The second rule of thumb in album sales is to upsell in the order below:

  1. Entry Level Book - something for a client who is either on a tight budget or printed product is not his priority. This is where you should start with PrimaBook or QtPocket. They are inexpensive solutions with some limitations.

  2. FlushMount Album - AriaBook is the product that you should be aiming to sell to most of your clients. It looks more profoundly compared to PrimaBook. Printed on top-quality Fuji DPII paper with thin, thick, or ultra thick pages. Available all our fabrics and leathers.

Another great product is the ArtBook on smooth matte paper - priced in a similar manner but with a totally different feel to the paper. Both AriaBook 10x10” and ArtBook 10x10” are the most selling albums in our offer.

  3. A Prestige product - This is for a client who wants something truly special and is willing to keep good care of it. It’s the Cotton Rag paper. Only a handful of companies does it as the process is very slow and meticulous. It’s printed with archival inks, does not contain optical brighteners and acids, and it’s rated not to fade for hundreds of years. That is a huge selling point. You can start with regular hardcover and straight edges, upgrade to deckled edge hardcover artbook or go for our best product and an eye-stopper - The Journal ArtBook.

and then upsell some more:

We offer unrivaled pricing for FLAT RATE DUPLICATES in our most popular sizes, and a 30% discount on other duplicates that might not qualify for the flat rate. You can make additional profit on upgrading your album boxes or adding print boxes with fine art prints.

Other design limitations - - - Please keep your designs clean and simple with white backgrounds preferably. The images need to be around 1” from the edge of the spread. While designing album avoid images with heavy use of deep blacks. Please keep images off the crease as with time the ink on the crease might be prone to cracking. We recommend that you avoid full bleed spreads. Do not design in a way that a dark image on one side is facing empty white space on another as ink may transfer if the book block is pressed.
